The changes brought about by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act, signed into law by President Barack Obama in March 2010 and commonly referred to as the "health reform" law, will have a significant impact on how people involved in the criminal justice system can access public health insurance and services.
